Music
S B V R T

My latest musical project S B V R T is inspired by the SMA methodology. S B V R T music is different. It has elements in common with other electronic music but never fits well into a genre. It is simply what I find appealing at the moment of its creation. S B V R T music is united by three rules that guide my creative process:
DJing S B V R T
1. SUBVERT
Don't try to invent a replacement for what exists. Try to take what you have and make something new and different.

2. MINIMIZE
Make it beautiful and simple. The last step in the composition process is to remove things.

3. ACT
Don't just think about how you can make something different. Write it. Try it. Play it. And put it out there.

MY TrackS

MacDonald Residence

When we decided to move to a new home in the early 2000's, my wife Michelle and I wanted to bring an architectural aesthetic that didn't exist in St. Louis at the time: a white box in the middle of the forest. Working with Thomas P. Mont Alto and a number of emerging artists, we've built an ever-evolving dream home.

Rather than simply admire art from the sidelines, we actively support artists who embody our values of subversion, minimalism, and action. We promote art that we think is different. It doesn't have to be revolutionary. The art we purchase and commission uses traditional media (oil painting, sculpture) in untraditional ways. Something new happens within the existing structure of art.
